A Servant Heart
Matthew 23:10 reminds us that we should not be called leaders, for
our One true leader is Jesus Christ. God is responsible for all that
has happened in and through this place, and we give Him all credit.
Luke 22:26 teaches us that an effective leader will first be a
servant. Our heart and our hope is to lead well, without fear, but
always in the spirit of service and humility.
A Dedication To Prayer
Scripture teaches us to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17). We
are to be faithful both “in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).
This family called Crosswind believes in and
is committed to the power of prayer. Ministry without connection to
God, no matter how intense the effort, won’t be effective or fruitful
over time.
Meeting Physical Needs In Jesus' Name
Matthew 25:37ff teaches us that there is a connection between the
physical and the spiritual, and that caring for people who are hurting
is important to our Lord. Crosswind wants to
meet the physical needs of people wherever and whenever possible. But
the greatest gift we have to offer is the free gift of God’s love for
each one through His son in Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
The Bible As A Foundation For Ministry
We believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God and are
profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in
righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). We love the Lord and His word. Today
we host on-site Bible studies in two communities and will be adding to that number in the near future.
The Gospel Is Our Strength
The Gospel is the glory of the Triune God made
manifest in His work (1 Cor.15:1-11) to reconcile every person to union
with Himself, communion with others, to fullness of life, and to harmony
with Creation, in the context of community for the good of all.
A Love For All People
When the angels announced the news of Jesus’ birth to the Shepherds,
they proclaimed clearly that the gospel was good news for “all people”
(Luke 2:10). Each and every person matters to God. No person is beyond
the reach of His love. The truth is that we have been recipients of
that love. It is our joy to pass it along to each one who comes along
our path.
